About Stockspanic
Stockspanic is an independently maintained educational market-crash stress test. It compares decisions across two possible futures; it does not predict markets or provide personal investment advice.
Accountability status
The responsible public operator identity and monitored contact route have not yet been supplied for publication. This is an explicit launch dependency, not an implied anonymous credential. This page remains excluded from search indexing until that disclosure is complete.
Editorial standard
Historical scenario statistics are generated from retained daily closing-price sources with source URLs, retrieval records and response hashes. Intraday extremes are excluded. Articles must distinguish price indices from total-return indices, selected examples from representative samples, benchmark recovery from personal recovery, and historical stress tests from forecasts.
Published calculations and factual claims are checked against the repository’s versioned research snapshot and automated publication contracts. Independent human editorial review, fluent translation review and commercial display-rights review are recorded separately and are never implied by an automated test.
Corrections
Corrections and source concerns use the calculator’s private, CAPTCHA-protected feedback channel. A submission is acknowledged only after it has passed abuse protection and been committed to the private inbox. If the channel is unavailable, the form preserves the draft in the current tab and states that nothing was submitted.
Material corrections should record the affected page, the previous claim, the corrected claim, the supporting source, the correction date and the deployed version. No correction history is claimed before an actual correction exists.
Review ownership
The accountable editorial role owns methodology, source selection, limitations and corrections. A locale reviewer must approve the complete rendered journey and exact catalog version before that locale becomes indexable. Reviewer qualifications, scope and review date must be published with the approval record.
Advertising independence
Advertising may fund the site, but advertisers must not choose scenario outcomes, strategy rankings, historical cases, editorial conclusions or correction decisions. Advertising placements must remain visually labeled and separate from calculator controls and article evidence.
Current limitations
The model omits taxes, fees, inflation, account restrictions and individual portfolio composition. It cannot know whether a crash will occur, identify a bottom in real time or determine what a particular person should do. The historical library is deliberately varied but is not a probability sample.
